Welcome to the new Topsail Island Association of REALTORS® website. This is an exceptional source for REALTORS® in the Greater Topsail Area. This site will serve as your 24 hour link to Topsail Island Association of REALTORS®, providing information, updates, and all news you need to know and have immediate access to all information and services available at the local, state and national level.

Our hope is that this site will continue to encourage and expand membership participation and involvement in the Association.

~ The NCAR Special Assessment is due and payable.

Your President has explained the assessment in an e-mail entitled Issues Mobilization a couple of weeks ago. TIAR will collect for our primary members only. If you are Primary in another Association, you would forward the funds to your Primary Board. It is mandatory for all State members, and costs $70. If it is paid before Sept 29, NCAR will give you a $20 discount, so you would only pay $50. The assessment can be paid by check (made out to TIAR) in person, by mail, or you can log-on to the web-site www.TopsailREALTORS.com, and use PayPal for a small fee.

Deadline for Code of Ethics quarterly cycle is rapidly approaching.

This deadline is December 31, 2008. As a courtesy, the board staff has requested copies of certificates that have not been recordedfor this cycle so that we can keep our members in compliance with NAR. We can only record it from a copy of the certificate, not by the date alone. If the record does not show by the end of the deadline, REALTOR privledges will be suspended until the individual is compliant. You can check you records by logging into the NC Real Estate Commission at www.ncrec.state.nc.us and using your license# and SS#. You can also log on to www.REALTOR.org to check your education record. For your convenience there is a link on our website to take the Code of Ethics course. Go to www.TopsailRealtors.com and log in using your Navica logon ID and password, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Code of Ethics on-line’. This is free of charge, and you can take it in less than 1/2 the time than a standard class! You could even interrupt the course and return to where you left off at any time! For those that insist on the classroom environment, see the Education Committee paragraph below.

Long Term Rentals and Boat Slips can now be entered into the MLS as a listings. Please keep in mind this does not include vacation rentals.

Jacksonville Lockbox Access will be granted to Topsail agents who subscribe to the Jacksonville MLS. If your membership is primary with Topsail and you also subscribe to Jacksonville's MLS, please call or e-mail the Topsail Board Office so that we can send the changes to your Sentricard.

Sandra Ledbetter and her Special Events Committee team have worked hard at arranging the Sizzling Summer Celebration for August 20th, 5pm at the Assembly Building in Topsail Beach. We hope that everyone can show their appreciation and support for their hard work, as well as the generosity of the local vendors giving away gifts from a day at the spa to dinner at many of the local restaurants. So come spend some time with your fellow members, you'll be glad you did! The Education Committee and the Board Staff are working on bringing some of your requested courses locally. One is Spencer Rodgers who will educate us on Beach Nourishment and many other related topics. Watch the calendar and your e-mail for details to come.
